2014 ITA Men's Scholar Athletes/All-Academic Teams

SKILLMAN, N.J.-
The Intercollegiate Tennis Association has announced that both the Allegheny men's and women's tennis teams have been named All-Academic Teams, while nine different Gator players were named ITA Scholar Athletes.

Individually, the Gator women Scholar Athlete recipients include Andrea Brush, Abby Lange, Haley Meekhof, Laura Steele, and Michaela Thompson.  For the men, Patrick Cole, Alexander Hurtuk, Frank Mosconi, and Tyler Triolo were honored.  Cole, the winningest player in program history, is now a three-time ITA Scholar Athlete, while this marks the second consecutive season in which Mosconi, Hurtuk, Brush, and Steele received the honor.

As a team, head coach Jared Luteran's Gators are one of just two North Coast Athletic Conference programs to see both the men and women earn the All-Academic designation, which is awarded to teams that achieve a cumulative grade point average of 3.20 or above during the season of play.  In order to earn Scholar Athlete status, an athlete must be a varsity letterwinner, earn a grade point average of 3.50 or higher during the academic year, and be enrolled at their present school for at least two semesters.
