BETHLEHEM, Pa. - Paced by a pair of underclassmen, the Gators finished 12th in a field of 52 teams at the 2013 NCAA Division III Mideast Regional Championships, held at Lehigh University.
Allegheny was led by sophomore
Alyssa Brindle, who covered the 6K course in 22:55 to finish 53rd in a field of 360 runners.  Teammate
S.J. Guillaume wrapped up an impressive freshman campaign for the Gators, narrowly missing her personal best with a time of 23:10 to finish 73rd.
All five of the Gators' top five runners finished among the top third of the field. Junior
Andy Sharfman crossed the finish line in 23:28, good for 86th place and just two seconds off of a personal record. Sharman's classmate
Emma Loniewski, who was competing in her first season on the cross country squad, was the Gators' fourth finisher, taking 102nd overall and topping her career best by over 50 seconds with a time of 23:39.Â
Spurred by four runners in the top 10, Johns Hopkins University took the team championship, finishing with just 26 points. The individual title went to Lebanon Valley sophomore Kelsey Patrick, who crossed the line in an even 21:00 to post an 11-second victory.
